Good morning to all!
If you read my profile or are blessed enough to know me, you know that I am a huge Oregon Duck Football fan. Last week I got see my first live game of the season and as I thought they won easily and looked better than ever (well after the first quarter). Come this Saturday, the Ducks will hopefully be one step closer to Glendale! I've been hearing a lot a lot about how well CAL has played at home this year. One thing everyone is forgetting to mention is the lack of the quality of the opponents they are playing. The teams they have faced at home include Colorado and UC Davis, a combined 7-11. Now with the Ducks coming to town this weekend CAL better get ready, if that’s even possible.
The Ducks look to come away with a win this time at Strawberry Canyon unlike two years ago. We all know that the “blur” offense is going to show up but if the Ducks can take care of a couple thing on D, they will easily come away with the victory. One thing is to put pressure on the QB, Brock Mansion who is starting his second career game and force him to get rid of the ball before he wants to. The second thing and probably most importantly is to stop Shane Vereen. Vereen is a dangerous runner and is putting together his best season as a college football player yet.
Prediction time! Look for the crowd to try and get into it early. If this happens, the game will probably be close most of the way to the end. If the Ducks can fend off the initial intensity of the crowd they will be fine. Look for CAL to try and force DT to beat them through the air by focusing on trying to stop LaHeisman. The Bears are going to have to change some things up if they want to stop the run since they let JaQuiz run for 120 and three scores a couple games ago.
Final score, 45-17 Ducks! See you all on Saturday!
